Church Planting
Church Planting Gaining Momentum In Southeast District
Critical to missional success in the Southeast is our continued attention to Church Planting. While our strategy is a bit more complex than can be reviewed here, the three basic components are Planter Assessments (choosing the right planters), Bootcamp (training the right planters), and Coaching (having the right people committed to walking with the planter). While the Bootcamp piece is solidly in place, we need assessors and coaches.
Assessors should be men or women, pastors or laypeople, who are mature, discerning, and willing to be trained in the emerging skill of identifying the right planters. A pre-requisite for assessors is to: (1) Attend a 2-day assessment training course; and, (2) Invest up to 10 hours when called upon to assess a potential church planter/couple.
Coaches should be significantly experienced pastors who are relational grace-givers and truth-tellers who are willing to be trained and able to make up to a two year commitment with at least one and no more than two church planters. In addition to attending Bootcamp with your planter, you will be asked to attend a one day training event.
