Step 1 – Assess Your Church Health

The first step towards a healthier church is a Church Health Assessment – a systematic review of your church operations and ministry effectiveness.

I encourage you to perform this assessment with a 9-12 member leadership team which should include the lead Pastor, Elders, staff and lay leaders.  Ideally, this transformation team should include a representative mix of men and women, young and old, and new and long-standing members.   The active involvement of all members should result in an accurate assessment.  And accurate assessment sets the stage for God’s transformation…

To further ensure an accurate assessment,Dr the following two self-examination surveys to help you diagnose your existing church health.  It is recommended that each team member complete both surveys, and then discuss individual findings in a group setting to arrive at a final assessment that the whole team is comfortable with.

  • Missional Survey reviews effectiveness in 6 ministry areas.
  • Leadership Survey examines 7 critical church leadership efforts.

Need Help?  I would be honored to assist you with any of these church health efforts!  Please contact Jim Boone by e-mail at jimb@sed-efca.org or by phone at 904-535-7340.
