The EFCA Southeast District represents 9 states, 63million people, numbers of growing cultural population groups, and currently has 66 churches and 34 new church starts in process. The opportunities for new church starts are endless and we are growing in the number of contacts desiring a new EFCA disciple making church.
If you wish to see if there is an opening in an established ministry please contact Glen Schrieber at email@example.com.
Our district’s definition of church is a disciple making faith community that is reproducing new church communities. We are looking for disciplemaking churches to reproduce new churches.
Our church planters are offered assessments, boot camp training on practical church start skills, ongoing coaching, pastoral care and network mentoring. Contact us for more specifics.
IMMEDIATE NEED: New Orleans Metro (ReachNOLA 2013) –This area is still spiritually devastated and desperately needs healthy disciple making churches started to reach, equip and send. We have discovered neighborhoods that do not have a church at all. Right now in partnership with a several others we are focusing on using work teams coming down to rebuild, to assist church planters in evangelism, serving the people in these communities and gathering people for the new churches. New Orleans metro area has Urban Impact at www.urban impact.org and Castlerock Church. Then on the North Shore we EFCA’s TouchGlobal Ministries ministering through multiple levels of compassion to those devastated by Katrina and Isaac. The harvest field there is plentiful!
We are praying for 6 church planting couples to be identified starting the process of gathering people to start churches. There are four in process right now.
Check out our www.reachnolanow.com web site for specifics. We are praying and asking the Lord to raise up three more workers to start churches in 2013-2014.
Nashville, TN – we have a group in the very beginning stages looking for others to join them. A church planter is needed on the southern part of the city. But the area is huge so consider joining or starting your own church. We could use several church planters in this area of need. Contact John DeMeester, Regional Missional Catalyst at 920- 210-0719.
KY and NC – There are two locations where we have had a church plant start and the planter is moving on. Each location is leaving leaders in place and 35 to 50 people. This is good opportunity for a builder and it will be a temporary missionary position or bi-vocational until the core can grow stronger. These two ministries are meeting on Sundays and need leadership. The church planters are leaving in a healthy way and there is a strong positive reputation in the community. Contact John DeMeester, Regional Mission Catalyst at 920-210-0719.
Hickory, NC – We have a couple desiring to see an EFCA church started in the area. They have lived there for 12 years and have a hand full of couples that could join them. This is an opportunity to get on the foundation of a new church starting. Check out Hickory on www.city-data.com. Great area.
Atlanta, GA – We are beginning our recruitment for church planters for the greater Atlanta area. This has been a prayerful desire for three years and we see things coming together. In 2016 our district will be looking to see at least six church planting teams to begin churches in and around Atlanta. If this is an area you have been considering, let’s talk soon on this. Presently we have a church start in Stockbridge and a multi ethnic small congregation in Atlanta and so there is a lot of room. We know the larger churches in Atlanta, that started 10 to 20 years ago are struggling to keep young people. The population has shifted and for instance the Korean population around Duluth has grown significantly. Contact us, schedule to take a vision with us and let’s see what God does.
Bonita Springs, FL (between Naples & Fort Myers) – We have had a pastor express the need for a new church start in this area. Apparently not only are there a number of new people moving in but Hertz is opening an office in the next couple of years hiring or bringing 1,000 employees. There are churches in Fort Myers and Naples who might be able to be an encouragement.
Brandon, FL – This community is a growing bedroom community for Tampa, FL. There are new stores, shopping malls and new schools. There is a military base nearby where a number of families work as civilians so the economy is stabilized. The city of Brandon has 61,000 people growing by another 9,000 people by 2015. This community has access to airports, good schools and new growth. Right now there is a couple interested in seeing a new church start. This a terrific multi ethnic opportunity.
Miami, FL – We have a church planter ministering to the lower income families in the Homestead area and they have a number of other communities they’d like to see reached. This is an opportunity to be mentored or in a residency. This is a missionary position and the ministry is very fruitful. Call us and we can network you with the planting team on the ground right now. This a terrific opportunity to see lives changed. Miami is wide open with a number of locations need a church that makes disciples.
Orlando, FL – This is a community where the EFCA is just now establishing a beachhead and there are only two EFCA starts there. We would welcome others to start a disciplemaking church in that area. There is a large diversity of people groups around Orlando. Contact us for more information.
MS – The EFCA does not have one church in the state of Mississippi. Our faith goal is to see four new church starts initiated within the next two years. Our district staff will be working to find contacts and potential leads throughout the state. If you know someone living in the state or you have a desire to start a new church in Mississippi, please make contact with us.

It’s called Live Oaks Community Church which has been successful in establishing a healthy church among Baby Boomers in a gated community. Live Oaks is looking for an intern couple with start and people skills to launch another church in a retirement ministry to Baby Boomers. There are communities across the country they are in relationship with where a new church could start. This internship includes practical skills, assessments, placement, training and coaching. Missionaries NEEDED – Two Regional Missional Catalysts District CP Staff Positions – We need two more missionary couples with church planting experience to help with regional church planters through coaching, assessments and training in the Carolinas and another position in Florida. You will be missionaries and will need to do support raising. We already have a team of three families on the ground. We’d like to see one Florida couple relocate to Orlando, FL and the other in the Carolinas to the greater Charlotte area. Please contact Bruce if you’d like to see a job description and understand more of what has developed.
